mississippi state parks campgrounds - have fun while enjoying the outdoors

The average camper may get to spend ten or twenty days per year sleeping out in the great outdoors. It is important not to over load your back pack with unnecessary items you do not actually need.

Ensure that you are aware of insect bites and stings, plants and weeds that may cause allergic reactions, exposure to various climactic conditions. Carrying your maps and compass in water proof containers is very essential while on a camping trip. If you have a trailer or camper or are putting up at a camping ground where all basic facilities including shelter are provided then you may need to carry fewer items.

A good boot gives your foot and ankle the proper amount of stiffness yet springiness it needs. One thing I always enjoyed as a child was camping with the family. Your handy dandy axe is going to be critical and you need to master the technique before even thinking of climbing.

Although the outdoor camping equipment that I got was really good, it was completely inappropriate for the type of trip I was taking. Things seem so huge when you're a small child. Children should wear brightly coloured clothes to increase visibility.

When winter camping make sure to bring food that may be eaten without heating up. Try to bring as much bottled water with you as possible.
