texas state park camping

Before you set off into the woods, make sure that you have a pack prepared with food like energy bars or trail mix to keep you moving, plenty of water, dry, protected matches, a space blanket to keep you warm and to signal for help during the day, an LED flashlight or LED lantern for use at night, a compass, and the best survival knife that you can find or afford. Even the most attentive adult can find that they have wandered off the beaten trail, and finding your way back can be more difficult than you anticipate.

Not only is hiking fun and refreshing it is also very good for you. There are many places all over North America for family camping fun. Excessive heat can also be a problem, especially for young children, so pack lots of liquids.

The right equipment can actually make you want to stay away camping longer. If you choose to use a lantern, you do not have to keep working to keep it on like a bonfire. Winter-weight camping tents can be purchased, although sometimes they can be heavier to carry.

Whether camping as a family or having the kids go to a summer camp, it s a great way to learn about nature and the outdoors. When you complete your first climb, you will know why we love it so much.
